When We Are Closedclosed_sign

If you become  unwell out with normal working hours and your illness cannot wait until you are able to contact your own doctor, please telephone 111

Your call will be automatically transferred to NHS 24 where a trained call handler will take your details and transfer you to a nurse, who will deal with your problem.

You may have to travel to the emergency centre to see the doctor, or be asked to speak to a doctor who will give  advice on the telephone or, if required, a home visit will be carried out by a doctor.

Your own doctor will be informed about your contact with this emergency service and advised of any treatment given.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
