Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.

They also carry out Keep Well checks for all patients aged between aged 35-64 years inclusively, without established CHD, stroke, heart failure or diabetes

This check is available to individuals at the greatest risk of preventable ill health.  If you would like to have a Keep Well check, please check with the reception staff to see if you are eligible and if so, they will make an appointment with the healthcare assistant at a mutually convenient time.
